Fannie Barrier Williams was an African American educator and political and women's rights activist. She became well known for her efforts to have blacks officially represented on the Board of Control of the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893.
This necklace features an image of a photo Fannie Barrier Williams, in public domain, is attached to tin using a finishing product that creates an oil painting like look and texture.
The focal measures 1 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches.
The image is finished with a copper colored chain and lobster claw clasp, lead and nickel free.
